Weekly Summary
15th July
Swiftly moving frontal systems in the seven days ending Tuesday 15th resulted in a mixed bag of weather arriving over the region from different points of the compass. A cold south-westerly at the beginning of the week sent the mercury down to 4.8ºC, before veering northerly again on Monday to bring a warm winter’s day of 22.2ºC by 2.30 pm. Overcast conditions on a few days reduced the week’s Bright Sunshine to 31 hours. Over 4 mm of rain in the rain gauges increased the total for the month to 85 mm, just one mm below the 115 year average for July.
