Love the reports and the history, very interesting even though we live in the lockyer vally.. you live in a beautiful part of aussie… thanks for your web site
Hello,
The name of the electrician who wired up most people homes, businesses and dairies in Maleny in the 1940’s was Jack Sallaway. Not Callaway.
I can’t remember him being at the Up Front Club as I remember George Gibson building the shop next door which became an electrical repair shop. Jack later build a shop with his residence on top in Coral St. The building seems to be a residence now, with the shop unused. It’s where Coral St runs into Wootha Rd, where all the construction is happening now in Coral St.
Thanks,
Desley
