New Map of the Earth Available Online

NASA and Japan’s METI have released a new digital topographic map of Earth that covers more of the planet than ever before. It will be useful for engineering, energy exploration, conserving natural resources, fire fighting and city planning. The map is created by a Thermal Emission Reflection Radiometer on board NASA’s Terra spacecraft. The map is available on line to all users at no cost.
