The month will be remembered for its ‘cold snap’ when temperatures plummeted to a low of 2.9 degrees. This was our coldest June day since 2001. Somewhat different to last year, when fog was a major feature of the month and officially reported as the foggiest June for forty years.
Rainfall for the month was 158 mm, representing 53 mm over the 116 year average. It is the third month this year in succession to exceed the average. The total year’s rainfall to date is 1474 mm, an increase of 133 mm on the six month all year average.
The mean temperature for the month was14ºC, this is half a degree up on the norm
